Acupuncture Without Needles- Low Level Laser

Cold Laser (also known as low-level laser therapy) is used to help heal wounds and to treat many of types of musculoskeletal injuries, and disorders including back pain caused by lower back strain, herniated discs, fibromyalgia, etc. It has been used in many acupuncture practices for several years.
                           Laser light

Cold lasers operate at very low levels of power. Unlike high-power lasers, low-level lasers do not heat or create damage to the area being treated. The device is simply held over or against the skin. Cold lasers do emit light which appears red which penetrates deeply into the tissues stimulating acupoints, promoting healing, reducing inflammation, and reducing pain.

The light energy is absorbed and converted to biochemical energy, which stimulates the acupoints and tissue cells which speeds healing. There are no known side effects to cold laser therapy.  We are able to use this device to treat both acute and chronic pain. The benefits appear to be cumulative; therefore it may take several treatments for the results to become apparent. Total number of treatments varies, depending on what’s being treated, and response to treatment varies from patient to patient.

A laser which is ideal for ear points, needle phobics patients and children

This type of of device combines electro-acupuncture with low level laser technology and is ideally suited for treating the needle phobic, acupoints on the face, acupoints in the ear, and is an excellent alternative for treating children who may not tolerate needles.

This is an example of a low level laser with a higher power output. It is ideally suited for treating larger areas and deeper tissues.

Different conditions and different treatment goals require the need for a variety of low level lasers. We only use the finest quality laser units in our practice.
