""Scott Denny, PhD, BPS (Ac.), MS (Ac.), LAc, Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM), DAAPM, FAAIM, Director, Integrative Hospital Associates

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College, and a Bachelor of Professional Studies and Master Science degree from Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA) in New York City. He also holds a Ph.D. in Electromedical Science from City University Los Angeles, and has had the honor of being the past President of American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM). He is a past member of the AAPM Board of Directors, and a current member of the AAPM Board of Advisors. He has served on numerous AAPM committees including; membership, education, planning, scientific posters, certification standards, examination writing, utilization, Pain Program Accreditation (PPA), and the technology and integrative medicine committees. He is a 1984 graduate of the New York Chiropractic College and is past faculty of New York Chiropractic College, and is a founding Trustee of the University of Integrated Studies.

Scott is a nine time recipient of the Continuing Education Excellence Award in Pain Management. He has also received the 2007 Outstanding Acupuncture Associate Award from The Zachariah Family Wellness Pavilion at Holy Cross Hospital. He is certified in many other areas including: cosmetic acupuncture, homotoxicology/homeopathy, functional medicine, and cold laser techniques.

Scott has lectured nationally and internationally on numerous topics including; surface electromyography in soft tissue injury assessment, manual medicine assessment and management of whiplash injury, biopuncture in the management of aesthetic conditions, biological medicine in complementary care, acupuncture in pain management, to name of few. 

Scott holds several certifications including a Diplomate in Pain Management, a Diplomate in Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and a Diplomate from the American Association of Integrative Medicine's College of Acupuncture & Neuromuscular Therapy. Scott is also a New York State Workers' Compensation Board - Certified Independent Medical Examiner.

Scott externed at the Sidney Hillman Center, Institute for Urban Family Health, an outpatient facility affiliated with Beth Israel Hospital while attending Tri-State College Acupuncture is a safe natural alternative for many health conditionsof Acupuncture. The focus of this acupuncture work was with the HIV community. In addition, Scott has also worked with the Center for Positive Connections, an HIV support and resource center in Miami. Scott currently serves as an advisor to The Health and Wellness Center, Inc., a not-for-profit resource and outreach center for patients suffering from chronic illness and disease.

Scott is a Fellow of the American Back Society and a Fellow of the American Association of Integrative Medicine. He is a past Clinical Research Fellow of the Institute of Pain Management and contributed data to the National Pain Data Bank (NPDB). He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Florida State Oriental Medical Association. He is a member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine, the American Holistic Health Association, The National Center for Homeopathy, The Australian Association of Homotoxicology, and the American Holistic Medical Association. 

Scott has received post graduate training and certification in Acupuncture Injection Therapy (AIT) from the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida. He has received his certification in traditional mesotherapy from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. 

Scott has retired from chiropractic practice and his current practice focus is acupuncture and oriental medicine in pain management, the treatment of conditions with oriental and integrative medicine, functional homotoxicology and nutrition, mesotherapy, biopuncture in pain management, anti-aging nutrition, homeopathy and herbs. He is also the developer of The Painless Acupuncture Method. In addition, Scott is the co-developer of the Antalgic-Trak spinal decompression system, and its technique called Kinetic Decompression Mobilization (KDM).

Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM) Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

Doreen Cott has been practicing the healing arts for over 25 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University. She has also completed graduate studies including anatomy, physiology, physical therapy, and Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

 

Doreen earned a Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emperor’s College of Oriental Medicine, located in Santa Monica, California. She holds a Diplomate in Acupuncture, from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She holds acupuncture licenses in Florida, as well as Massachusetts and Vermont. Doreen holds a certificate in massage therapy from the Santa Barbara School of Massage, and a certification in Neuromuscular Re-Education (NMR).

 

Her teaching experience includes instruction of students at The Vital Health Center in Encino, California, the School of Tactile Therapies in Melbourne, Australia, and the Darwin Naturopathic Clinic in Darwin, Australia.

Doreen uses many techniques including: Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage) integrated with hot stone massage, aromatherapy formulations, homeopathic products, Chinese herbology and nutrition. She uses this expertise in the management of sports injuries and pain, both acute and chronic.


Doreen is also experienced in the NADA Protocol for addiction medicine, and is a facilitator for smoking cessation groups, in addition to one-on-one sessions to treat various addictions. She also has specialized training in anti-aging and facial rejuvenation techniques including the acupuncture facelift, which has amazing results with no pain or side-effects.


Doreen is a published author and her book, Natural Vision Enhancement is in print, and she presents lectures and workshops in this area of expertise. She is a Certified Bates Method teacher, and has been teaching ‘Natural Vision Enhancement’ workshops since 1983. Her Master’s Thesis was entitled A Traditional Chinese Medicine Approach to Alternative Ophthalmologic Care, for which she was awarded the prestigious John H. F. Shen Scholarship Award. She has synthesized this body of work into Eye Qi Gong, a series of exercises, breathing and relaxation techniques directed at the entire visual system. She will be conducting classes and workshops here at
Holy Cross Wellness Center.


Doreen’s holistic approach relies on modern psychological and physiological concepts that incorporate mind-body techniques with the time honored Traditional Medicine of China.
