Tai Chi Has Similar Efficacy To Aerobic Exercise for Fibromyalgia: Pain Medicine News

When it comes to the nonpharmacologic management of pain for fibromyalgia, classic yang-style tai chi is more effective than standard aerobic exercise, according to the results of a randomized controlled trial.

“A longer duration of tai chi also had more benefit than a shorter duration,” said principal investigator Chenchen Wang, MD, the director of the Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Tufts Medical Center, in Boston.
