New Study Shows That Acupuncture Significantly Increases Pregnancy Rates for Women with Repeated IVF Failure

This is a very interesting paper. This is a very large meta-analysis of over 20 clinical trials with over 5000 patients. The results reveal that acupuncture had a large impact on pregnancy rates. There have been scientific papers in the past which were pro and con in regards to acupuncture as a fertility enhancing treatment, but this data is very supportive:

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA (PRWEB) JANUARY 21, 2019

A recent study published by Mike Armour in Reproductive Biomedicine https://www.rbmojournal.com/article/S1472-6483(18)30675-8/fulltext found that acupuncture increased pregnancy rates and reduced miscarriages in in vitro fertilization (IVF) patients. This systematic review and meta-analysis of 20 trials, involving 5130 women in Italy, Germany, Australia, USA and more, showed that 3 or more acupuncture treatments before an IVF transfer produced more pregnancies compared to no acupuncture (standard of care). The findings suggest that “acupuncture may have a significant effect on clinical pregnancy rates, independent of comparator group, when used in women who have had multiple previous IVF cycles, or where there was a low baseline pregnancy rate.”
